National Football League (NFL) is an American football league organized by the United States. The American Professional Football Association became the NFL in 1920 when it was renamed. In 1922, the name was changed to the National Football League. The history of the NFL is filled with many legendary players, but it would be impossible to discuss all of them in this short article, so in this article we will talk about the best NFL players of all time.  Let’s be clear up front: the number is not a ranking, it is just a way of listing.

1• Joe Montana:  Joe Montana was a quarterback player in the NFL. He won the most passing titles five times during his career. He was famous for bringing back his team from apparent defeat.

2• Jerry Rice: In NFL history, Jerry Rice has been a clutch player at the wide receiver position and has achieved a lot. With 1,256 career points, he is the highest scoring non-kicker in NFL history.

3• Jim Brown: As one of the greatest running backs players in history, Jim Brown won most valuable player three times in the history of the NFL. 

4• Lawrence Taylor: In the history of the NFL, Lawrence Taylor was one of the greatest defensive players. Taylor also held the title of being the most intimidating and feared player.

5• Emmitt Smith: In addition to being the only player with 17000 career rushing yards, Emmitt Smith is still the all-time  leading rusher in NFL history.

6• Reggie White: In the history of the National Football League, Reggie White was one of the best defensive players. In addition, he won the NFL’s top defensive player award twice.

7•Barry Sanders: Among the greatest running backs in NFL history, Barry Sanders is also one of the best. On an average he has 100 rushing yards per game and 1527 rushing yards per season.

8• Peyton Manning: As one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL, Peyton Manning has won most valuable player five times.

9• Walter Payton: Walter Payton rushed for 16,726 yards and scored 110 touchdowns, making him the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.

10• Tom Brady: Besides being a great footballer, Tom Brady is one of the greatest winners in North American history. Among the greatest bowl passers, he holds the ninth best career super bowl passer rating (95.12).

11• Deion Sanders: There is only one player who has crossed the pylon in every way possible: Dion Sanders. The NFL record is six interceptions and 303 yards plus three touchdowns for Sanders.

12• Otto Graham Jr: As one of the greatest quarterback players in NFL history, he won the MVP three times. Otto Graham Jr lost only thirteen games during his ten-year career.

13• Fred Warner: Fred Warner has earned an overall grade of 88.9 as a star defender that makes him one of best players in the history of the NFL.

14• JJ watt: JJ Watt was named AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 and 2015. In addition to making the top five three times, he was ranked no.1.

15• T.J watt: T.J. Watt won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2021. He plays the  position  of outside linebacker.

16• Michael Thomas: In 2019, Thomas won the award for offensive player of the year. He plays wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens.

17Derrick Henry: In 2020, Derrick Henry won the NFL’s best offensive player award. He is known for his rushing ability.
